Blaster
GAME SUMMARY
Blaster is a multiplayer third-person competitive shooter built in Unreal Engine 5 and C++, featuring online sessions, hitscan and projectile weapons, and a variety of responsive character movements.
MY CONTRIBUTION
I focused on multiplayer architecture, combat networking, and player movement systems that keep game-altering state authoritative and responsive.
Networking & Authority
- Implemented a server-authoritative model for game-altering updates, including bullet tracking and weapon pickups.
- Used Server, Client, and Multicast RPCs, variable replication, and Rep Notifies for animation state, shot registration, and other synchronized gameplay.
Combat & Movement
- Implemented leaning, strafing, turn-in-place, and aim-offset systems for weapon handling.
- Created hitscan and projectile weapons using line and sphere traces with vector-based targeting logic.
