Signal Surge
GAME SUMMARY
Signal Surge is a prototype strategy game built to train USAF 338th Airmen in network security and infrastructure management under deployed conditions. Players build, defend, and troubleshoot a rapidly evolving communications network while facing physical raids, signal jamming, spoofing attacks, and more.
MY CONTRIBUTION
I contributed the systems that model terrain, network behavior, and evolving threats to reinforce decision-making under deployed conditions.
Technical Features
- Hex-Grid System: Assigned terrain types and elevation to model line-of-sight and latency effects, while letting players extend their network to remote nodes and earn Performance Points.
- Network Layer: Plotted end-to-end connections, monitored throughput, and exposed faults caused by power constraints, hostile interference, and physical damage.
- Dynamic Threats: Used a modular event system for scheduled and probabilistic physical attacks, cyber attacks, jamming, and spoofing.
- Player Tools & Presentation: Added air-strike support, base-raid cinematics, frequency-jamming overlays, and dynamic VFX.
